Latin America Program Assistant​

In my role at the Office of International Affairs at the University of North Alabama (UNA), I assisted the Vice Provost of International Affairs in identifying and developing partnerships throughout Latin America. Priorities included managing 200+ applications in our CRM system, advising prospective students and their families, as well as maintaining communication with partner schools and overseas colleagues in both English and Spanish. Additionally, I also oversaw several marketing projects  including promotional videos, print materials, newsletters, e-mail marketing and social media.

Highlights of this position include:

- Increasing Latin American student enrollment and representation by 50% from 2019 to 2022
- Assisting with the formation of 5 new partnerships in Latin America
- Hosting visiting partners from Ecuador, Mexico, and Guatemala
- Developing "Explore and Experience" program to host group of 16 GAC Mexican high school students for one week in June 2022

University of North Alabama

Communications Consultant

As a communications consultant with the University of North Alabama, I worked to implement the design and content of the first UNA Humanities webpage using Cascade CMS. This involved discussing objectives with the Associate Dean and Chairs of each Humanities program to design a webpage and media that was representative of their overarching goals and outcomes. Projects involved conducting interviews, photoshoots, copywriting, editing, as well as overseeing three student workers also working on the project.

Careyes Foundation

Volunteer

During my time as a volunteer with the Careyes Foundation in Careyes, Mexico, my responsibility revolved around providing English classes in local schools as well as support with social media. This included creating content, scheduling weekly posts, photographing/videoing events, and editing program videos.

Highlights of this position include: 

- Implemented Google Ads for Nonprofit account
- Created video tutorial for the correct practice of releasing sea turtle hatchlings

- Growing social media accounts by 500 followers

Village Camps

At Village Camps, my responsibility included taking daily pictures and video of activities to be published on the website along with writing a blog of the day's events. UNA 
Department of Foreign Languages

Lab Assistant and Social Media

As a lab assistant in the Department of Foreign Languages, my duties ranged from tutoring other students to overseeing the Department’s social media. I often designed flyers, created social media content, and assisted professors in research projects. A sample of designs from this position is below.

Guatemala Ministry of Education

During this internship, my responsibilities included assisting the Director of Communications in Sacatepequez for the Ministry of Education of the Guatemalan Government. In this role, I conducted interviews of victims of the recent volcanic eruption, assisted with social media, and event set-up. This internship also included a great amount of photography and videography at events which were published on the government’s website and social media pages.
